Client Profile:

• Ardmore, Oklahoma manufacturing operation with 1 office
• Corporate office contains approximately 15 users
• No existing Wide Area Network (WAN), minimal security in place

Project Objectives:  

• DVITS to evaluate existing server and workstation infrastructure and recommend migration to up-to-date technology 
• Existing Exchange installation had been corrupted
• File/print services were only partially operational
• Tape backup system had failed

Project Results: 

• DVITS recommended migration to Windows 2003 Small Business Server
• Overall migration plan submitted to client to include use of Exchange 2003, SQL, Sharepoint Services, and attached tape backup system, integrated Trend Micro SMB w/ Messaging
• DVITS built RAID1/RAID5 server, installed all software packages, created required user accounts, configured all security options
• Business was migrated onto the new server in less than 12 hours
• E-mail and file/print services were operational for the first time in several months
• All manufacturing data runs from this server and is reliably backed up for off-site storage
