About Dolce Vita IT Solutions

Dolce Vita IT Solutions grew out of an opportunity which cropped up while Lane Griffing was assigned as a drilling engineer to the Baker Hughes INTEQ regional office in Pescara, Italy. During this assignment while SCUBA diving in Sorrento, one of the dive shops indicated a need for some assistance with their new website. This grew into a barter arrangement in which photos and other content developed for the shop's website was traded for boat rides and SCUBA tank fills on weekends. In addition, Lane provided periodic assistance to the Baker Hughes INTEQ IT group in Houston while working on assignment in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria which sparked a stronger interest in IT. Once transferred back to the US, Lane obtained his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification and began to work full-time in IT. Dolce Vita has grown to provide IT management and IT cybersecurity consulting for those clients with important data…clients who “can’t afford to disclose it” and “can’t afford to be without it” look to Dolce Vita!

Lane Griffing, President and CTO

Lane is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering. He has nearly 15 years of oil and gas experience and over 20 years of IT experience. Lane worked in Midland, Texas as a production engineer for TXO Production in the Permian Basin and New Mexico, and later with Baker Hughes in the Gulf of Mexico, Rockies, the North Sea and Southern Europe and North Africa.

Lane cut his teeth on data communications while serving in the 2nd Marine division as a battalion communications officer and platoon commander for 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, with deployments to a variety of locations including the Mediterranean and Middle East. He also acted as a technical communications instructor and evaluator for the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force Special Operations Training Group. This experience originated his interest in data communications. While working and living in Italy for Baker Hughes, Lane had the opportunity to get in-depth exposure to a variety of information technology used to support business operations...this led to a transition away from oilfield operations to working in IT full-time.

In addition to business management, Lane's primary focus is on strategic IT planning, compliance operations including CMMC and NIST frameworks, managed cybersecurity services, business continuity design, virtualization, and automated network management.
