Client Experience - Dolce Vita uses DATTO Business Continuity to migrate a client from ESXi to HyperV in minimal time
Dolce Vita IT Solutions designed and performed a virtualization migration of 22 Windows Serves from VMware ESXi to Microsoft HyperV using our DATTO business continuity (BCDR) solution to save time!
Because of licensing model and other concerns a Dolce Vita client request us to design and execute a migration to achieve the following:
Stand up two new HyperV host servers to replace three aging ESXi virtualization hosts
Run the new hosts on Windows Server Datacenter Edition
Migrate 22 Windows servers from ESXi to HyperV
Minimize migration time so that 22 Windows servers could be migrated outside of business hours to eliminate operational downtime
To achieve the desired objectives, the existing DATTO business continuity was used to perform server recoveries as VHDX file types to the newly established HYPERV host servers. This allowed migration times to be minimized and allowed for server migrations based upon client priorities and operational requirements.
